Match Report:
Villa progressed in the Under-18 Premier League Cup following a 5-1 thrashing of Newcastle United on Saturday.
The Young Lions scored three times without reply in the final 16 minutes to ensure they topped Group C.
Villa finished first in the group stage due to their superior goal difference compared to the Magpies, with Arsenal and Manchester United taking third and fourth place, respectively.
The match got off to a flying start for the Under-18s when Finley Munroe bagged the opener in six minutes.
An even game failed to produce more goals until just before the hour mark when Ewan Simpson scored his first of the season.
Hopes of a Newcastle comeback were sparked when Scott Bailey pulled one back on 71 minutes, but they proved to be short-lived.
Three minutes later, Munroe was on target once again, this time from the penalty spot, before Villa notched a fourth.
Captain Kobei Moore was the man to get it, adding to his four goals in the U18 Premier League this term.
Charlie Lutz finished off the scoring on 89 minutes as Villa secured their passage to the knockout rounds.
