Villa's 18-year-old double-winning centre-midfielder Alfie Lynskey has signed a new contract with the club. With the academy since the age of 9, the Republic of Ireland international already has two winners' medals with Villa, having won the u18 Premier League and the FA Youth Cup last season.
Alfie has made five PL2 appearances this season, scoring once, last appearing for the club in our 3-2 FA Youth Cup victory over Fleetwood Town last week and in total has made 23 appearances across the u18 and u21 teams so far in 2025-26.

Academy Manager Mark Harrison said:
“We're delighted Alfie has signed a new contract.
“He’s a local lad who has been here since the age of 9 and comes from a family of big Villa fans.
“Alfie is a technical, creative midfield player with an eye for a goal as well. He played an important part last season in the success of the Under-18s, and we look forward to seeing how he develops over the next few years.”
