Academy Manager Mark Harrison said:
“We are delighted Leon has signed a new long-term contract. We have been really pleased with his development over the last 18 months.
“Leon is a left-sided centre-back who has played to a consistent level for a while now. He is a competitive player and has a good level of technical competency.
“He has been a regular this season in the Under-21s whilst still only 17 and, over the last two seasons, has been an ever-present in the UEFA Youth League squad as well as making a significant contribution to the Under-18s last season.
“Leon has also had some experience playing for England at youth level.”
