Tommy Muldoon
Player #310 for Aston Villa, Thomas Patrick Muldoon, known as Tommy Muldoon, played as a midfielder for the club in the position then known as a left half.
Tommy played for Villa between 1924-25 and 1926-27 making 34 appearances.
Tommy was born in Athlone, County Westmeath, Ireland on 14 February 1901 and he made his debut appearance for Villa on 13 December 1924 aged 23.
Tommy’s first season saw him make his most appearances with 17 starts for Villa after he was signed from Athlone Town in October 1924.
As an Irish Fress State international, Tommy became the first Irish player to play for Villa and would be followed by numerous legendary Republic of Ireland internationals over the subsequent decades.
Tommy played his last game for Villa on 18 September 1926 he moved on to Tottenham Hotspur the following year in September 1927.
Tommy had played under both the George Ramsay and Billy Smith led Management Committees.
Tommy passed away on 12 October 1989 aged 88.
