Jimmy Logan

Player #89 for Aston Villa, James A Logan, known as Jimmy Logan played as a centre forward for the club.

Jimmy represented Villa in the 1892-93 and 1893-94 seasons making 15 appearances.

Jimmy was born in Troon, Scotland on 24th June 1870 and made his debut as a 22 year old on 15th October 1892.

Villa had signed Jimmy from Ayr United for £30 and he went on to win the 1893-94 League Championship with Villa whilst not finishing outside the top four in his two seasons with the club.

Jimmy played in 4 of Villa’s 30 games in the 1893-94 Championship winning season.

Jimmy’s younger brother Alec would also go on to play for Villa.

Jimmy’s final game for Villa came on the 16th September 1893 aged 23 after which he moved on to Notts County.

Jimmy played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

Jimmy passed away from pneumonia in Loughborough on the 25th May 1896 aged just 25.
