Jim Elliott
Player #96 for Aston Villa, James Alexander Ernest Elliott, known as Jim Elliott played as a full back for the club.
Jim represented Villa between 1893-94 and 1895-96 making a total of 25 appearances.
Jim was born in Middlesbrough on 20th October 1869 and made his debut as a 23 year old on 2nd September 1893.
Villa had signed Jim from Middlesbrough Ironopolis and he went on to help Villa secure 2 League Championships in 1893-94 and 1895-96 as well as winning the FA Cup in 1894-95).
Although Jim wasnโt a regular starter for Villa although he contributed 13 league appearances across the 2 title winning seasons and 2 FA Cup appearances in the victorious 1894-95 campaign.
Jimโs final game for Villa came on 26th October 1895 at the age of 26 after which Jim retired from football through ill health.
Jim played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Jim passed away in Middlesbrough in July 1899 aged just 29.
