Howard played for Villa between 1914-15 and 1921-22 making 21 appearances.

Howard was born in Aston, less than a mile from Villa Park, on 19 May 1891 and he made his debut appearance for Villa on the 2nd September 1914 aged 23.

Villa had signed Howard from Handsworth Amateurs in July 1913.

He was largely used as a back up forward before and after the Great War, making his final appearance on 5th September 1921 before moving to Southend United in December 1921.

Howard had played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

Howard passed away in 1954 aged 62.
