“To go two goals behind, especially away at a difficult place to come, is always going to be difficult.

“But we showed great character to come from behind and get the three points. It puts us up the table now. It’s a very good win.

“It’s been a difficult run for me and that’s the ups and downs of football.

“You keep going and I got my rewards tonight. It was nice to get my goals tonight.

“Since the manager’s come in, I’ve scored a lot of goals and assists. I’ve always found myself playing regularly in the team, so to go a prolonged period of time without scoring does affect you.

“It has been hard but you have to keep picking yourself up, training every day and working hard. Now I can put that behind me and keep looking forward.”

“We just kept playing our game.

“The game plan from the manager was clear from the get go and we knew that it was going to be tough coming here and that physically we would have to impose a lot, run a lot and give every effort until the end.

“That’s what we did and I’m proud of the boys tonight.

“Yesterday in training the manager was giving me a little bit of stick because he thinks that I can score a lot more goals with my head.

“I just kept saying to Austin to put them on my head and I’ll dunk it on them, and that’s what happened tonight.”

“I’m very thankful for our supporters.

“They were here today, Wednesday, 7.30pm, travelling from Birmingham to be with us, to support us, to help us.

“They are very important because the players felt it, how they were pushing and helping us.

“It gives us a lot of motivation, as well to feel excited to try to share our wishes, their wishes, together, and their energy.

“How we reacted, how we didn’t give up after the first and second goals was fantastic.

“Maybe their first goal wasn’t a corner but we conceded one goal.

“When we were, more or less, a little bit shocked they scored the second goal and we needed to react, we needed to get our gameplan.

“And when we scored our first goal, we kept balance and we were trying to dominate, trying to adapt competing against them, and we scored the second goal.

“The first half was fantastic how we achieved this result.

“The second half, again, we were keeping our gameplan and, of course, it was a very tough match, a very difficult match.

“But the players responded fantastic.”
