On This Day
Villa win for the first time in 3 Premier League games under Brian Little as they beat Bolton at the Reebok to climb back to 10th in the table.
Villa have to cling on for victory after the late sending off of forward Stan Collymore who yet again embroils himself and the club in nonsense.
Stan Collymore is sent off on his 12th appearance in a Villa shirt and the record signing now has more cards than goals to make it W5 D2 L5, 1 Goal, 2 Assists, 1 Booking and 1 Red Card so far in his Villa career.
Steve Staunton makes his 225th start in a Villa shirt (232 Appearances) to make it W98 D64 L70, 18 Goals, 26 Assists, 14 Bookings and 1 Red Card so far in his Villa career.
Ugo Ehiogu makes his 175th start in a Villa shirt (189 Appearances) to make it W82 D47 60, 11 Goals, 4 Assists, 21 Bookings and 1 Red Card so far in his Villa career.
Ian Taylor secures his 50th win in a Villa shirt on his 108th appearance (99 Starts) to make it W50 D27 L31, 11 Goals, 6 Assists and 14 Bookings so far in his Villa career.
Fernando Nรฉlson makes his 50th appearance in a Villa shirt (46 Starts) to make it W22 D14 L14, 3 Assists and 5 Bookings so far in his Villa career.
Future Villa midfielder Alan Thompson lines up for Bolton.

What they Said
"I went straight to referee Graham Poll and asked what he saw.
โHe said he saw punches thrown from both sides and he had no alternative.
"It was a big scuffle and let's hope he's made the right decision.
โIโve seen nothing to suggest he hasn't.
โTwo people reacted with each other, and I can't give you an answer as to why."
"I don't expect to see him [Collymore] again until a week on Monday [after England duty].โ
Brian Little.
Colly in the dock
STAN Collymore was last night accused of sparking the trouble that led to his sensational sending-off. The England hit-man was red-carded along with Bolton's Andy Todd after a punch-up. But Bolton star Gudni Bergsson alleged Stan began it by throwing an elbow.
He said: "An elbow was thrown to begin with. Andy got a bit angry after that and went for Stan. I saw it all." And he added: "Andy is very upset. Anyone would be at being sent off. He had a little battle with Collymore and they both lost a bit of control.
"I went in and tried to separate them, and I got a blow myself."
But Villa boss Brian Little refused to lay blame on either side. He said: "I went straight to referee Graham Poll and asked what he saw. He said he saw punches thrown from both sides and he had no alternative.
"It was a big scuffle and let's hope he's made the right decision. I've seen nothing to suggest he hasn't. Two people reacted with each other, and I can't give you an answer as to why."
Little said Collymore had given no reason as he came off but added that he would still be joining the England party as planned, saying "I don't expect to see him again until a week on Monday."
Collymore reacted after Todd pulled his shirt and was the first to be dismissed. He was soon followed off by Todd, son of Bolton boss Colin.
It had been a frustrating day for Collymore, who missed a golden chance from six yards. He was barracked mercilessly until his temper snapped. The dismissal took the shine off another important Savo Milosevic winner. His 12th minute strike took Villa to their fourth Premiership win out of five.
