Setting aside the back-drop of the first half of 180 minutes to save his job here is our prediction for tonight's match at Fulham.
Firstly our predictions for the team, one change, Stevie G won't be able to go two games without his comfort blanket and so Philippe Coutinho will be recalled in place of Ings.
GK Emiliano Martínez | 🇦🇷 |
W Ashley Young | 🏴 |
CB Tyrone Mings | 🏴 |
CB Ezri Konsa | 🏴 |
RB Matty Cash | 🇵🇱 |
M John McGinn | 🏴 | ©️ |
M Douglas Luiz | 🇧🇷 |
M Jacob Ramsey | 🏴 |
M Philippe Coutinho | 🇧🇷 |
W Leon Bailey | 🇯🇲 |
CF Ollie Watkins | 🏴 |
Bench? Cameron Archer will return but no chance whatsoever he will start.
The remainder of the bench will contain four players with absolutely no chance of getting onto the pitch: Olsen, Sanson, Nakamba and Bednarek.
The subs that are made will be in no context to the game unfolding on the pitch, they'll be Dendoncker and Buendía between 65' and 75' and a seven minute cameo for Archer.
Villa will take the lead, probably from a corner, most likely Konsa or Mings
Villa will be pegged back in the second half but survive a Mitrovic inspired onslaught to limp away from Craven Cottage with a point.
And we'll move on like groundhog day to Brentford on Sunday as everyone forgets that 11 games in and two places above Gerrard, Dean Smith was sacked at this point last season.
