Ben Chrisene departs on a season long loan with Killie

Ben Chrisene, 18, has joined Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premier.

Whilst not an oven ready first teamer just yet, unlike Cam Archer and Kaine Kesler Hayden, it’s still disappointing to see the young left back depart especially given the opportunity that had been there for him to play in midweek against Bolton before his send off.

Chrisene welcomed the move saying:

“On a personal note it’s good for me to play every week. I’m a left back and see myself as a dynamic player if the gaffer needs me to adapt. I’m very powerful, good on the ball and can defend.”

He didn’t add:

“I know, like the other youth lads, that I’ll never get close to the Villa first team whilst Gerrard is still there”

but then he didn’t really need to.
