Player #37 for Aston Villa, Walter Archibald Jones known as Wally Jones played as a defender for the club. Wally represented Villa twice during the 1885-86 FA Cup campaign.

Wally was born in Wednesfield on 25th January 1861 and made his debut as a 24 year old on 17th October 1885.

Villa had signed Wally from Walsall Town Swifts.

Wally’s final game for Villa came just a month after his debut on the 14th November 1885. Charlie retired from football from a broken leg.

Wally had played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

Wally passed away in Wolverhampton in 1940 aged 79.
