Tom played for Villa in 1924-25 and 1925-26 making 5 appearances.
Tom was born in Edgbaston, just 5 miles from Villa Park, in June 1905 and he made his debut appearance for Villa on 1 April 1925 aged 19.
Villa had signed Tom from Oakengates Town in July 1922.
Tom was used as a back up to the first team squad and made all his 5 appearances in the league with the majority - 3 - coming in his first season.
Tom would play his final game for Villa on 7 September 1925 aged 20 before moving on to Burnley.
Tom had played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
