Ike Moore
Player #62 for Aston Villa Isaac George Moore, known as Ike Moore, played as a winger for the club in the position of inside forward. George represented Villa six times during the 1889-90 season scoring three goals.
Ike was born in Tipton, just nine miles from Villa’s current ground, in December 1867 and made his debut as a 21 year old on 2nd November 1889.
Villa had signed Ike from St. Stephen’s FC .
Ike left Villa for Dudley Town despite scoring at a rate of every other game in his fleeting Villa career.
Ike played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Ike passed away in West Bromwich on 1st September 1948 aged 80 however his service to Villa was not complete yet as his grandson, Tommy Moore, would also go on to play for Villa as a winger in the 1931-32 season.
