Villa had signed Bob from West Bromwich Albion and he became the fourteenth custodian of the Villa goal in League and Cup football and he went on to concede 8 goals in 4 games at a rate of 2.00 goals per game without keeping a clean sheet.
Bob’s final game came on Saturday, 25 March 1893 in the 6-4 victory over Accrington.

Bob passed away in Byker, Newcastle on 20th October 1929 aged 70.
