Matty Cash and Boubacar Kamara return from suspension, but Amadou Onana is out after being Merino'd on Tuesday. Tyrone Mings, Ross Barkley and Pau Torres remain sidelined. Mings will miss his 13th consecutive game, and Pau Torres his sixth, as neither is expected to return until later in the New Year. Barkley is likely out until at least February.
As is the norm, Harvey Elliott probably won't make the squad, but there is no provision to automatically terminate his loan early.

"I don't know now which injury he [Onana] has, but hopefully not a lot. “Now we have some players injured.
“Not available for tomorrow, Tyrone Mings, Pau Torres, Amadou Onana, Ross Barkley, Harvey Elliott, Evann Guessand & Alysson.
“Pau maybe is [back] in one or or two weeks, and Mings as well. Onana, more.
“They are close to coming back, some of them, but still a lot of players are not available for tomorrow.
“But we have enough players to compete against Nottingham Forest.”
