Villa havenāt done too badly under the referee, considered to be the most calamitous on the circuit, probably because it is an issue of competence rather than bias.
Winning half the games heās officiated, being carded marginally less than the opposition and being awarded five penalties to the opponentsā two.
But the last two fixtures have been defeats, albeit to Liverpool at Anfield and against Villaās nemeses Palace, so too much can be read into that.
