Willie McAulay

McAulay represented Villa in 1900-01 making a total of 6 appearances - all coming in the league as Villa finished 15th in Division One. McAulay missed out on Villa’s Charity Shield win that season having not been selected for the match against Corinthians.

McAulay was born in Glasgow on 1st November 1879 and was signed from Walsall Town Swifts before making his debut appearance for the club in the 0-1 Division One loss against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, 6 October 1900 aged 20.

McAulay made his final appearance for Villa in the 0-2 Division One loss against Notts County on Saturday, 16 February 1901 aged 21

McAulay played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee before moving on to Portsmouth ahead of the 1901-02 season.

Willie passed away in Scotland in 1950 aged 71.
