Tom was born in Perry Barr, just 1 mile from Villa’s current ground, in June 1870 and made his only appearance for the club as a 24 year old on 17th November 1894. Villa had signed Tom from Nechells Old Boys.
Tom moved on to Walsall Town Swifts without making another appearance for the club.
Tom had played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Tom passed away in Birmingham in November 1937 aged 67.
