Simon Dawkins
Player #859 for Aston Villa, Simon Jonathan Dawkins known as Simon Dawkins played as a forward for the club in Villa’s 2012-13 Premier League campaign making 4 appearances.
Dawkins was born in Edgware on 1 December 1987.
Paul Lambert had signed Dawkins on a four month loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2013 and like so many signings under Lambert’s bewildering regime, Dawkins was out of his depth with Villa, so much so that even this most myopic of managers couldn’t keep playing him.
Lambert handed Dawkins his debut as a 63’ substitute for Andreas Weimann in Villa’s 2-1 Premier League win over West Ham United on Sunday, 10 February 2013. Lambert would bring Dawkins on in the following two matches as well, making his entrance in the 82’ for Charles N’Zogbia and the 84’ for Weimann once again in the losses to Arsenal and Manchester City.
Dawkins disappeared from view until making a 59’ substitute appearance for Yacouba Sylla in the last game of the 2012-13 season on Sunday, 19 May 2013.
Dawkins returned to Tottenham Hotspur in June 2013.
Dawkins had played under Paul Lambert.
