Player #819 for Aston Villa, Shane Thomas Lowry played as a centre back for the club in 2009-10 making 2 appearances.
Lowry was born in Perth on 12 June 1989 and signed for Villa from ECU Joondalup in his native Australia aged 15 in February 2005 alongside Chris Herd under David OโLeary on an initial two-year YTS deal with a one-year professional contract attached.
Lowry was handed his debut by Martin OโNeill as an 80โ substitute for Curtis Davies in the UEFA Europa League loss to SK Rapid Wien on Thursday, 20 August 2009 aged 20 before once again replacing the same player in the 83โ of the return leg on Thursday, 27 August 2009.
A series of loans, and managers, followed through 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 before Lowry finally secured a permanent move away from the club with a ยฃ243,000 transfer to Millwall in January 2012.
