Villa had signed Sammy from West Bromwich United.

Sammy’s final game came just 7 days after his debut before moving on to Birmingham St. George’s.

Sammy played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

Sammy passed away in Birmingham in 1925 aged 57.
