Michael Bradley
Player #839 for Aston Villa, Michael Sheehan Bradley played as a midfielder for the club during the 2010-11 campaign under Gérard Houllier.
Bradley was born in Princeton, New Jersey on 31 July 1987 and he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 12 February 2011 aged 23 as a 73’ substitute for Gabby Agbonlahor in Villa’s disappointing draw away to Blackpool.
Bradley had been signed by Gérard Houllier on a four month loan from Borussia Mönchengladbach and was named in the next four successive Villa squads but made just one appearance - his only start for the club - in the 0-3 5th Round FA Cup defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday, 2 March 2011. Bradley was replaced by Ashley Young in the 71’.
Bradley wouldn’t feature for Villa again until Houllier had departed to be replaced by caretaker boss Gary McAllister after which he would make substitute appearances in the final two games of the season, appearing in the 80’ and 89’ for Stiliyan Petrov and Ashley Young respectively as Villa beat both Arsenal and Liverpool to put a positive shine on an otherwise underwhelming campaign.
Bradley returned to Borussia Mönchengladbach at the end of his loan spell ahead of the 2011-12 campaign.
