Les was born in West Bromwich, just 6 miles from Villa Park, on 4 January 1903 and he made his single appearance for Villa on 7 February 1925 aged 22.
Villa had signed Les from Wolseley Motors FC in December 1924 and he moved to Reading in July 1925 after just 8 months and 1 appearance with the club.
Les had played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Les passed away in 1980 aged 77.
