Kevin Keelan
Player #479 for Aston Villa, Kevin Damien Keelan, known as Kevin Keelan, played as a goalkeeper for the club.
Kevin played for Villa in 1959-60 and 1960-61 making 5 appearances.
Kevin was born in Calcutta, India, 5,808 miles from Villa Park, on 25 January 1941 and made his debut appearance for Villa on Saturday, 5 March 1960 aged just 19.
Kevin was the 57th custodian of the Villa goal in League & Cup football.
Villa had signed Kevin from Carpet Traders FC in 1957 and he made three appearances, conceding 3 goals, as Villa took the Second Division Championship and won promotion back to Division One at the first attempt.
The following season, Kevin made 2 appearances in the first division conceding 8 times and played his final game for Villa on Saturday, 1 October 1960 before moving on to Stockport County in April 1961.
As a result Kevin had conceded 11 over his 5 games at a rate of 2.20 goals per game.
Later in his career Kevin went on to become Norwich Cityโs first team appearance record holder with 673 appearances between 1963 and 1980.
Kevin had played under manager Joe Mercer.
