Jim Paton
Player #68 for Aston Villa, James Jabez Paton, known as Jim Paton played as a forward for the club. Jim represented Villa in 1889-90 and 1890-91.
Jim was born in Glasgow on 1st July 1855 and made his debut as a 34 year old on 17th March 1890 making Jim the oldest ever Villa debutant.
Villa had signed Jim from Vale of Leven FC and he went on to represent the club on 4 occasions scoring once over his two seasons with the club.
Jim’s final game came as a 35 year old on 18th October 1890.
Jim played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Jim then retuned to his native Scotland to play for Dundee Harp.
Jim passed away in his native Scotland in 1924 aged 79.
