Janoi Donacien, a right back for the club, appeared as an unused substitute on 2 occasions during Villa’s 2013-14 Premier League campaign.

Janoi was born in Castries, St. Lucia on 3 November 1993.

Villa had signed Janoi from Luton Town in July 2010 and he was promoted to the first team squad by Paul Lambert.

Lambert named Janoi in the Premier League squad for the 1-0 draw at Sunderland on Wednesday, 1 January 2014 and in the FA Cup squad for Villa’s 1-3 3rd Round defeat at Sheffield United on Saturday, 4 January 2014 however Janoi did not make it off the subs bench on either occasion.

During the 2014-15 season Donacien was not named by either Lambert or his successor Tim Sherwood in any match-day squads and he was sent out on loan by Lambert to Tranmere Rovers from August 2015 to January 2016. Shortly after returning to Villa, Lambert was gone and his replacement Sherwood renewed Janoi’s loan with Tranmere from March 2016 for the remainder of the season.

Donacien remained with the club in Villa’s torrid 2015-16 relegation season however, perhaps fortunately, he once again spent much of the season out on loan. Sherwood sanctioned a one month loan to Wycombe Wanderers in August and September 2015 and just before leaving his role at Villa sent Janoi out on loan for the rest of the season to Newport County.

Villa released Janoi at the end of the 2015-16 season allowing him to move on to Accrington Stanley in August 2016 on a free transfer aged 22.
