George Kinsey

Player #108 for Aston Villa, George Kinsey played as a midfielder for the club in a position then known as a left half.

George represented Villa 3 times during the 1894-95 season.

George was born in Burton-on-Trent on 20th June 1866 and made his debut for the club as a 28 year old on 6th October 1894.

Villa had signed George from Wolverhampton Wanderers for £500, a then club record fee.

George wasn’t selected to feature in Villa’s victorious 1894-95 FA Cup run and made all his three appearances in Villa’s league campaign finishing 3rd after the previous season’s title win.

George’s final game for Villa came on 23rd March 1895.

George moved on to Derby County without making another appearance for the club despite the record transfer fee paid for him.

George had played under the George Ramaey led Management Committee.

George passed away on 10th January 1911 aged just 44.
