Edmund Strange
Player #128 for Aston Villa, Edmund Wallace Strange, known as Edmund Strange played as a midfielder for the club in a position then known as a left half. Edmund made 2 appearances for Villa during the 1897-98 season.
Edmund was born in Bordesley Green on 12th March 1871 and made his debut for the club as a 27 year old on the 2nd April 1898.
Villa had signed Edmund from Unity Gas FC with both his appearances coming in the league as Villa went in to finish 6th.
Although Edmund’s on field contribution to Villa was fleeting he went on to support the club both as assistant secretary between 1899 and 1925 as well as serving as manager of the second XI.
Edmund had played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Edmund passed away in Birmingham on 18th December 1926 aged 54.
