Daniel Johnson
Daniel Anthony Johnson, a forward, appeared as an unused substitute for Villa on 13 occasions between October 2010 and November 2013.
Johnson, born in Kingston, Jamaica on 8 October 1992 was promoted from the Villa youth team in July 2010 as a 17 year old and made his first squad appearance for the club on Wednesday, 27 October 2010 in Villa’s 2-1 win over Burnley in the FA Cup.
Johnson made 2 further squad appearances in 2010-11 called up by Gérard Houllier for the Premier League matches against Blackpool and Manchester United on the 10th and 13th November.
The following campaign, under new boss Alex McLeish, Johnson made appearances in 6 Premier League squads without making his debut.
Under his third boss in 3 seasons, 2012-13 saw Paul Lambert name Johnson in just one squad - the 2nd Round League Cup with Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday, 28 August 2012 - before being sent out on loan to Yeovil Town.
Johnson returned to Villa following his loan spell and during 2013-14 made another 3 squad appearances before leaving on loans to Chesterfield in 2013-14 and Oldham Athletic in 2014-15.
Johnson’s final squad appearance came on Saturday, 9 November 2013 as Villa beat Cardiff City 2-0 in the Premier League after which he moved on to Preston North End on 23 January 2015 in return for a fee of £59,000 aged 22.
