Charlie was born in Bath on 29th January 1891 and he made his Villa debut on the 20th September 1913 aged 22.

Villa had signed Charlie from Stourbridge in June 1913 and he would move on to Huddersfield Town in August 1914.

Like many players of the era Charlie’s career was interrupted by the Great War and although Charlie was still on Villa’s books he would never again represent the club.

Charlie had played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.

Charlie passed away in Doncaster on 7th April 1971 aged 80.
