Callum O'Hare

Player #911 for Aston Villa, Callum Luke O’Hare, played as a forward for the club during Villa’s 2017-18 and 2018-19 Football League Championship seasons.

O’Hare was born in Solihull on 1 May 1998.

O’Hare made his competitive debut for Villa at the age of 19 when he was named in the starting XI in the EFL Cup 1st Round win away to Colchester United on Wednesday, 9 August 2017.

O’Hare had previously featured as an unused substitute for Villa during the 2016-17 season making the bench for three Championship fixtures including the final game of the 2016-17 at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

2017-18 saw O’Hare appear 8 times for Villa - starting in 3 EFL Cup fixtures and 1 FA Cup tie - as well as being brought on as a substitute in 4 Championship matches.

O’Hare’s first league appearance came in the defeat away to Cardiff City on Saturday, 12 August 2017 as a 58’ minute substitute for Henri Lansbury.

Whilst O’Hare didn’t score in the 2017-18 season he did create an assist for Christopher Samba to net in the home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.

For the 2018-19 season, hopes were high for a breakthrough for O’Hare into the first team however an injury in the early part of the campaign ruled him out of contention and although he was named as an unused substitute for a run of 5 Championship games in November and December, he didn’t make a league appearance in 2018-19.

O’Hare’s sole appearance came in the FA Cup 3rd Round defeat at home to Swansea City before he was sent out on loan for the remainder of the season to Carlisle United for whom he made 16 appearances and scored 3 goals in League Two.

For the 2019-20 season O’Hare was sent on loan to Coventry City for their League One promotion campaign and by the turn of the year, O’Hare had received rave reviews making made 29 appearances and scoring three.

O’Hare was released by Villa at the end of his contract on 30 June 2020 and subsequently joined Coventry on a permanent deal.
