Villa win for the first time in 9 and make it 16 wins and 16 defeats time in 45 games under a Jozef Vengloš now openly exasperated with his treatment by the local press.
Second half substitute Dwight Yorke heads the winner that confirms Villa's top flight safety.
Dwight Yorke contributes his 5th goal involvement and his 4th in his last 7 games in a Villa shirt on his 21st appearance (9 Starts) to make it W5 D6 L10, 2 Goals and 3 Assists at a goal involvement rate of one for every 4.20 he has played so far in his Villa career.

"What will be, will be.
“We play Chelsea and then go to Malaysia for a few games. Then I will decide about the future.
“When I came here, I signed a contract for one year, and I have been happy to add that to my 25 years experience."
Jozef Vengloš
“Since the turn of the year, though, he [Jozef Vengloš] has come under increasing pressure as the team have slid alarmingly down the table
With no sense of shame the Birmingham Evening Mail fail to admit from where the pressure had been coming.

SUB Dwight Yorke secured Aston Villa's first division future with a 66th minute winner against Norwich at Villa Park last night.
Villa needed only a point to end the threat of relegation but Trinidad & Tobago international Yorke enabled them to end a run of eight matches without a win.
Villa put a jittery opening 45 minutes behind them is the second period as they celebrated England midfielder David Platt’s decision to reject a move to Italian club Bari.
Fittingly it was Platt who had a hand in Villa’s ninth minute opener when Norwich defender Mark Bowen could only turn his teasing left-wing cross into his own net.
A weak clearing header from Kevin Gage only found lan Crook and his fiercely driven low cross was turned into the roof of the net by Dale Gordon and Norwich were level.
But Tony Cascarino’s 66th minute centre was headed home by Yorke and so it proved the crucial winner.
