Villa play their final u21 Premier League Qualification Group Tier 1 game and draw with Champions Everton.
Villa finish runners-up to their opponents, but will take no further part in the u21 Premier League season as the nonsensical format literally discards teams regardless of their League standing. Indeed, Villa, with 19 points from 12 games, are prevented from qualification whilst four teams with fewer points are allowed to progress.
Unsurprisingly, this woeful thought-through format was abandoned after one season.
