Another local derby and another win for the leaders of the Midland Youth League, who make it nine games unbeaten at the start of the 1997-98 campaign, but the big surprise is Goalkeeper Michael Price making his debut as a striker following injuries to three players during the game.
Villa had taken a 2-0 lead in terrible monsoon conditions, including a delightful long-range strike from Luke Prince, before losing Dominic Reece, Stephen Evans and Jamie Kearns to injury, letting the visitors take advantage of Villaโs woes to claim a goal, but Villa held on for their sixth win in nine League games.
