Despite losing two players to injury in the first 17 minutes, Villa make it four consecutive wins and four consecutive wins as they beat Albion to continue their unbeaten start to their title defence and claim 13 points out of a possible 15, with only a last-minute opening unwarranted equaliser stopping them from taking all 15.
A six-pass team move ends with Alan Lee opening the scoring before Villa repeated the trick to allow Darius Vassell to score his second in two games. Darren Middleton added one of his solo specials to make it four for the season.
