Joseph Wilcox
Player #199 for Aston Villa, Joseph Wilcox, also known as John Wilcox, played as a winger for the club in the outside right position.
Joseph played for Villa in 1907-08 and 1908-09.
Joseph was born in Walsall, just 10 miles from Villa Park, on 2nd January 1882 and made his debut for the club at the age of 20 on the 16th November 1907.
Villa had signed Joseph from Dudley Town in July 1907.
Joseph made 6 appearances for Villa, with 5 of his 6 coming in his first season helping Villa to a second place finish.
Joseph played his final game for Villa on 10th October 1908 aged 26 after which he moved on to Birmingham in November 1908 in a part exchange deal involving George Travers joining Villa.
Joseph played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Joseph passed away in Walsall in May 1964 aged 77.
