Frank Cornan
Player #211 for Aston Villa, Francis Cornan, known as Frank Cornan played as a midfielder for the club in a position then known as wing half.
Frank made 16 appearances for Villa in the 1908-09 season.
Frank was born in Sunderland on 5th May 1880 and made his debut appearance for Villa at the age of 28 on the 19th December 1908.
Villa had signed Frank from Birmingham for a fee of £350 in September 1908, and he stayed for two seasons, however Frank never really established himself as a regular in the first team after making the step up in divisions.
Frank made his final Villa appearance on 26th April 1909 having helped Villa to a 7th place finish.
After being released Frank returned to the North East in August 1909 and played for Spennymoor United for a short spell.
Frank played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Frank passed away in Halifax on 31st May 1971 aged 91.
