Bob Chandler
Player #248 for Aston Villa, Robert William Chandler, known as Bob Chandler, played as a goalkeeper for the club.
Bob played for Villa in 1913-14 making just one appearance in place of the injured Sam Hardy.
Bob was born in Calcutta, India, 5,809 miles from Villa Park, on 15 November 1984 and he made his Villa debut in the Boxing Day fixture of 1913 aged just 19.
Villa had signed Bob from Glossop in August 1913 to play in place of the injured Sam Hardy, but he wouldnโt feature again before moving to Walsall in September 1914.
Bob was the 30th custodian of the Villa goal in League and Cup football and kept a clean sheet in his sole appearance for Villa - a 3-0 win over Sheffield United.
Bob had played under the George Ramsay led Management Committee.
Bob passed away in 1950 aged 56.
