Meanwhile, forward John Laidlaw made his second and final appearance for Villa aged 22 before moving on to Kilmarnock in June 1914, whilst goalkeeper Bob Chandler made his sole appearance for Villa aged 19 after joining from Glossop North End in August 1913. Bob moved on to Walsall in September 1914.
