Vic Crowe's Villa record their biggest win of the season and Villa's biggest win since April 1962 when Villa beat Leicester 8-3 and Villa's biggest win away from home since January 1932 when Villa hit the same scoreline against the same opposition. As a result Villa make it eleven wins, two draws and five defeats in division three so far this campaign. Andy Lochhead’s hat-trick was Villa’s first in 5 and a half years since Tony Hateley’s four goal haul against Spurs at White Hart Lane in March 1966. Goalkeeper Jim Cumbes made his Villa debut aged 27 after moving from West Bromwich Albion in October 1971 for a fee of £35,000.
