The first conscious sighting of MacDonald before his controversial past came to light was a pleasing opening day victory. It went pear-shaped thereafter however. Forced to hold on to the role too long due to the arrogance of his successor, MacDonald had the temerity to claim he was in the running for the job he was clearly incapable of. To be fair though he probably wouldn't have done a worse job than the guy they actually appointed.
