A literal tidal wave of Villa attacks peppers the Spurs goal before a freak breakaway sees the visitors score one of the most unlikely reverses of the season.

Villa soon equalised however and normal service resumed with few if any observers not incredulous that Villa did not enter the break with a cricket score to their name.

Villa however make amends in the second half as Joe Bache creates one and scores one as they record three consecutive wins for the first time since the opening games of the season. 

Villa make it eight wins, two draws and three defeats in their thirteen division one games so far in 1909-10.
