On This Day
A shocking first half performance from Villa sets them on their way to a third successive defeat with 15 goals conceded as they slump closer to the bottom of the table.
Eric Houghton's Villa suffer a third successive defeat and have now shipped fifteen goals in three games as they lose at home for the first time this season. As a result Villa's previous eight game unbeaten run is a distant memory as they make it one win, one draw and three defeats in five division one games so far this season, scoring ten and conceding eighteen.
Meanwhile, full back Gordon Lee made his Villa debut aged 24 after moving from Hednesford Town in October 1955.
