Villa, without a win in four, are held at home to make it eight wins, five draws and seven defeats in twenty under Jimmy McMullan. Although scoring hadn't been a problem for the new boss - hitting 40 in their first twenty matches they had begun to dry up with only three goals scored by Villa players in the previous four. What had not changed however was McMullan's problems with conceding with 47 conceded including six concessions of four goals or more.
