 1910-11 Season Notes

Villa followed up their sixth league title winning season with a runners up place just a point behind the leaders. 1910-11 was the fourth time Villa had finished second in the table and meant they had now finished in the top two on 10 occasions. The season itself saw one less league win than in 1909-10 cost Villa the title however it was the lack of goals - 69 in the league compared to 84 the previous campaign - that ceded the advantage to narrow title victors Manchester United. Villa again faltered in the FA Cup failing to get past the second round meaning they had now not made round four of the competition they had dominated in the previous decade since the 1904-05 season.
